Many years ago, within sight of the Kent County High School, the owner of the Worton Roller Rink – Charles Cranfill – (W3VCN) was an avid ham radio man. I had the opportunity to sit with him a couple of times in his home while he talked with other ham radio guys all over the world. I was not interested in the subject, but it was interesting that one could communicate over great distances through the air, dependent on an antenna.
